Plant a Tree and Help to Protect the Earth

In order to suppliment our annual student tree planting program, Project SeaWolf volunteers will also plant one tree somewhere in Snohomish County, Washington, for every $5 donated to our conservation and wildlife advocacy campaigns.

Many groups and corporations are talking about carbon sequestering and reducing one’s carbon footprint by planting trees.  A number of complex formulas exist to calculate the true carbon footprint that someone living in a typical middle-class home might produce over the course of a single year, but we know that none of those formulas yet accurately portray a true picture of what our ecological impacts are.

That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take time to act.

SeaWolf’s directors and volunteers are committed to taking real action to reduce carbon in our atmosphere, and so, each spring and fall, we will continue to conduct tree planting projects to rehabilitate riparian and upland watershed areas.  We will plant native Northwest trees like cedar, fir and spruce seedlings, and whenever possible, we’ll involve students and youth in these efforts to teach them some hands-on lessons in conservation.  We’re working with local city and county parks departments to identify suitable sites for tree planting throughout Snohomish County.

We would like to extend that offer to all businesses and corporations in our region of operations.  Make any contribution toward helping us cover the costs associated with these projects (and our tree seedlings), and we’ll plant as many trees as you determine you would like to sponsor ($5 per tree seedling).  If you’d like, we’ll even send you a digital photograph of your tree(s) as they start their new mission of sequestering carbon.  And as they grow, your tree will continue to draw carbon out of our atmosphere, doing a small part to reduce runaway global warming.
